Meet Matt - Couture Grounds

Director of Design and Customer Experience

It all started with a push mower…. Matt started cutting grass in 1991 at the age of 12, and officially went into business after graduating high school in 1997. What started with small jobs, primarily in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, grew into much larger projects throughout PA, NJ and as far away as Southern Florida.

Sometimes you just need a change…. After more than 20 years in landscaping, Matt started working with a team of people in the tech sector to create companies that would help blue collar service industry companies. Working in such a different and fast moving industry helped to refine Matt’s skills in leadership, launching new products or services, developing strong company cultures and creating unique customer experiences. During those five years, Matt gave talks at private sector companies, government agencies, student entrepreneur groups at U. Penn Wharton School of Business, and now sits on a committee panel at the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology for high school kids learning the trades.

The desire to create things in strong….. “I felt like landscape and construction companies should be using streamlined processess along with effective and proactive communication to provide better and more enjoyable customer experiences. I knew then, it was time to come back to the landscape industry to make a difference.”

A couple of my favorite designs

One of my favorite designs, this Chester County outdoor living space includes a large paver patio, custom boulder fire pit, custom deck, landscape lighting and hundreds of new plants.

This Bucks County design includes, a paver patio, custom cedar deck and hammock area, a water feature, landscape lighting and tons of color new landscaping.

Matt’s expert recommendations, clarity of communication, and positive energy again brought our ideas to life. The final project is impressive—at once grand and natural—beautifully integrated with the landscape, and perfect in every detail.

Matt kept us informed about the status & what was going to be done each day (had a couple poor days of weather); it's a tough location that they couldn't necessarily get the big trucks to, so they made do with what they had, kept the runoff from the neighbors and pressure washed the street when they were done.

I'm excited to see what Matt will design for our new backyard and feel very confident the rest of this journey will be professional and most likely more than I expected, because that is who Matt is as a person and a professional. On a sidenote, I observed a really nice quality in Matt and the way he supports and teaches his crew to do different things and makes them feel appreciated. That right there is an awesome quality!

What an incredible experience! I was completely blown away from start to finish. My project was to add a stone patio around my house. I really wanted something unique that looked like it was always there. I didn't know what that would look like and how I would express it to Matt our designer who headed my project. But given Matt's ability to ask the right questions, give honest answers and his unbelievable design talent, he magically created a design that fit ME. I didn't realize how much more I could LOVE my house. Thank you, thank you, to Matt. I'm so grateful I found you!

Matt was on site every day up to three times a day, answered all our questions and made sure we understood the process. The men performing the work were very friendly, liked our four labs and cleaned up every night before calling it a day. We cannot thank them enough for making our walkway, front landing and patio beautiful.
